LOT on back ordered items not being re-populated on SO

In our business processes, we define a LOT/Location number at SO entry. The LOT number defines specific characteristics of the item being sold: affixed labels, printing, etc. We are using LOT's a little different than normal but it seems to work fine with an exception.

During ship confirmation, if a line being shipped has a LOT code, and either the line is partially shipped or flagged as back ordered, the associated line on the SO (which initially had the LOT and Location specified), will have the LOT code deleted!

If the line is split (partial shipment), the new line created with the remaining quantity will NOT have the LOT information either.
