User Item Type in Item Rules in PIM

Requirement is use value of user item type attribute in Main attribute group while defining item rules. Tried using attribute groups as item_primary.item_type, inventory.item_type or main.item_type (even though i know main cannot be used) but during validation it throws error for all attributes groups as invalid.

Please suggest how to use the value of item_type (user item type) attribute value during item rules.
