What is the correct fully qualified host name to use in OEM 12c install?

We are testing the process of installing OEM 12c with an existing Oracle 11g database on a Windows 7 laptop. The purpose of this exercise is to flush out all the procedures required when we move this to a Solaris SPARC/Red Hat environment.

In the Installation section of the OEM12c GUI, we are missing the fully qualified path name we need to continue. The instructions recommend that we do no use a simple host name. We are missing something obvious, but since this is a local installation on a single machine, localhost does not seem to be acceptable, although other connections are made that way, including SQL Developer.
