mountpoint back to 88% when blocking session was killed

Hi All,

We got below resolution from a DBA but I could not understand how the mountpoint got back to 88% from 100% after killing the blocking session? IS there some stats where we can pull any relevant figures regarding this?

There was an  incident for 100% full for /s03/oradata1 mount point, Due to 100% full  db instance went to hang state and we have killed the blocking session which was causing hang , later few minutes storage became 88% full so started the both RAC instance.
