Cancel a PO

We have few records in PO in E1 9.1. wherein the quantity open is not zero although the order is cancelled. The records come from old world system. I am considering changing the value to zero as these are very old records and have no impact. However I just wanted to know if this is normal or has anyone ever had this experience and how it would be fixed.
