Problem with changing owner in Installed Base

Hi,

Sometimes when we want to change the ownership of an item instance in Install Base we get an unexpected error message

but when we try to change the ownership the next day it works.

Does anyone know why this changes from one day to another? What processes occur when you change the ownership and is

there any background processes or workflows?
