Would archive log files been deleted by vss backups on Windows

Hallo,

we plan a better set up of our backup and recovery procedures. I read about VSS (Volume Shadowcopy Service) Backups in the Windows platform guide but didn't see any advice about deleting the obsolete archive log files after a backup. Has this to be done by an extra process or manual/scripting? Or is this done by VSS backups automaticly?

Any help would be great.
