JDE 9.2 Need a link b/w SO and OP that is not a direct ship

Hello,

My client requires that for all "special items" that the SO is linked to the OP so that there is a trail back to the SO if the customer, for whatever reason, cancels their order.

So, it's basically a direct ship but coming in to our warehouse and not direct to the customer. Can this be done w/o creating an SD/OD?   Another caveat, a lot of these items can't be setup for lot processing either.
