What were the benefits generated by the implementation of the concept VIB (virtual incremental backflush) in the GMF?

For those who has worked with the previous version of opm costs, you can indicate the benefits?

The benefits generated justify the job of running the process "GMF Recreate Batch / Period Layers"?
