Fixed Asset Depreciation

I am currently working on a project where they have put in Fixed Assets in JDE 9.1.

I have been asked to test the process and the tasks I have done are as follows:

1.  Create the Asset with a Cost Aquired and a Start Date of 01/01/2016

2.  Raised a AP invoice with the same cost and linked to the Asset ID

3.  Posted the AP invoice batch

4.  Run the Depreciation Report in Final mode and this calculated correctly and the batch was posted.

5.  On checking the On-line Deprecation screen the NBV has not reduced and there is nothing in the depreciation fields.

What am I missing here?  Is there an update report that needs to run but I thought that it was automatic?
