developer client starting solution explorer

Hi,

developer client spend long time processing, the time on starting solution explorer spend several minutes, but it's because database is in datacenter in USA and client in BRAZIL, so are there a way to improve this starting time?

developer migrate OS to windows7, how mach ram memmory could be isntalled in windows7?
