Replacing snmpd on ODA with 3rd party daemon

edited Jan 25, 2016 4:45AM in Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) (MOSC) 3 commentsAnswered

ODA X4-2 12.1.2.2.0

Our support division wants to monitor my ODA platform via snmp, but the net-snmp daemon (installed by default when imaging the servers) is not a certified snmp agent, and errors are thrown on the management system side.

Question. Can I simply disable the net-snmp daemon, and install a 3rd party one (for the specific OL5.11 kernel on ODA X4-2)? Or are there caveats to be aware of?

Thanks.

Howdy, Stranger!
