Tuition Group (SEL_GROUP) on STDNT_CAR_TERM

Can anyone tell me how the Tuition Group (SEL_GROUP) gets set on the STDNT_CAR_TERM record?  And how do we change it if is it incorrect?  We have a small group of students with a unique ACAD_PLAN that should be assigned to a specific Tuition Group.  The Tuition Group was correctly assigned last term but not this term.
