Frequent record locks

Dear All

Here we are using EBS version 12.1.3 and database version 11.1.0.7.0 We have more than 70 showrooms which use OE in parallel. From few months we have noticed that number of frequency of record locks have been increased in OE. For example for any showroom record will be locked and it will not be released until we get it released by issuing LATER SYSTEM KILL SESSION command. I want to know reason for record lock and how to prevent system for this.
