Foreign Currency

Is there a way to change the currency an employee is paid? I tried changing the Currency Code field (CRCD) in the Personal application in the Employee Information (P0801EMP) but that didn't seen to have an affect. Does entering a value in the Currency Code field have any affect on payroll?
