huge pages usage

Hi,

There was an incident  where the database could not be brought up because use_large_pages was set to only and unused huge pages was 14 gigs however sga was 14.7 gigs before starting instance however the total huge pages was 14.9 gigs.We are not sure why there was difference of 0.9 gig in unused huge pages before bringing up database.Is there some other shared memory which can occupy huge pages?Since there was difference of 0.7(14.7) gig huge unused so database could not be brought up
