Questions about ASM _rebalance_compact

MOS document 1902001.1 explains _rebalance_compact and recommends that it is used for DGs using SSDs.


It goes on to say that it is 'enabled by default from 11g onwards.'


Is it enabled only when the DG is using SSDs or even if it is using HDDs?


How can I see the setting for _rebalance_compact on an existing DG? It does not show with lsattr.
