The meaning of "Assigned units" at WO operation ligne level

Hi all

My question is about the filed "Assigned Units" at WO Operation Ligne level; what is exactly the meaning of this field ?

I notice that even if I put for exemple  Assigned units  = 3 , I can assign more that three employeess and I didn't find any relation of this field to the other fields like "Required, Duration..etc"

Can anyone assist me for this?
