Tuning based on wait events

Hi,

 

We are running Oracle Database 11g Standard Edition in conjunction with Oracle Documaker on Windows servers.  I am looking at tuning opportunities on the Database server.   During the day, database utilization is low.  But, at night, a large number of transactions are dumped into Documaker which drives up database activity.  The large batch of transactions can take 1-2 hours to process. We would like to complete the transactions in a shorter time.  I am task to see if there is anything from a database standpoint that can be done to help. Someone else is looking at the Documaker server.
