Dear followers of this board,

I am really desperate finishing my upgrade from 12.1.0.1 to 12.1.0.2.160119. Please let me explain, what I did.

For an open issue related to AQ-over-DBLink between Oracle 12.1.0.1 and 10g, Oracle advised me to upgrade to the most recent version, which is 12.1.0.2.160119. The database is a staging database, single instance, using ASM, running on RHEL 6.5, 64bit.

What I did:

  1. Install new 12.1.0.2 GI-Home (software-only, silent mode) and patch it to version 12.1.0.2.160119
  2. Install new 12.1.0.2 DB-Home (software-only, silent mode) and patch it to version 12.1.0.2.160119
  3. Deconfigure my GI 12.1.0.1 OHASD, TNSListener and ASM services
  4. Configure OHASD, LISTENER and ASM in 12.1.0.2.160119 GI Home

Everything was working like a charm. After reboot, ASM and Listener are starting and my one and only ASM diskgroup gets mounted. When configuring my ASM instance I passed the spfile and password file stored in ASM. As mentioned before, this works perfectly and

Howdy, Stranger!
