Search page fields with history rows - how do I only retrieve the latest row instead of all rows on

I have a question regarding search pages and data items that have history records.  I added a field to a search page to allow users to select Active or Inactive for Purchasing Kit Definitions.  Problem is that when this is selected it returns all rows for items that have more than one row.  see attached screenshot for example.

How do I limit the results to only return latest result from record field?
