Getting an error in repair order form that IB doesnt allow ACTIVE START DATE to be changed

we entered SR details on the repair order form and after entering the serial number and save getting the error as Install base doesnt allow ACTIVE START DATE to be changed . I noticed that the instance owner is different to SR owner. and also created a relationship between the parties . Could you please advise.
