secure console problem

I intended to secure the web console with an ssl cert, but somebody in my org stepped in and said they they would mange acquiring the server certs.  They did not generate the csr with the owm software.  I guess they used openssl or some other app.  Anyway, I didn't see this coming, but owm will not allow me to import the user cert they created.  The option to do this is grayed out.  I assume the software requires that there to be a csr in the wallet first.  Is there anyway to import the user cert or add the
