After EPM and ODI upgrade Metadata interface gives error: java.lang.RuntimeException: No driver memb

I have upgraded

- Hyperion EPM from 11.1.2.2 to 11.1.2.4 and applied planning PSU 11.1.2.4.003

- ODI from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7 and applied patches 18687916 and 20957183

Now several of my ODI Meta data interfaces that import meta data from Oracle EBS (via LKM SQL to SQL) to Hyperion Planning (via IKM SQL to Hyperion Planning) are logging the following errors for every member.

     Cannot load dimension member, error message is: java.lang.RuntimeException: No driver members were specified, no data will be loaded.

This error is also present in the Planning log HyS9Planning_epmsystem1-syserr.log.

has anyone seen this error before or have any tips on how to overcome it? I can find no oracle documentation that mentions it, I have an ongoing case open with oracle but thought I would also post this out here to increase my chances of a quick resolution.
