Make applet editable in Read only view

Hello, We have below requirement :

1) View is Read only

2) While accessing view the system popup the applet

3) Since the view is read only , the Pop up applet also remains read only

4) But there are certain fields which user needs to fill in the Pop up applet

5) Is there anyway using Siebel open UI thr' which user can make those fields editable Pls do let me know if you need more details
