Resource available hours different from shift duration

Hello,

We are on 12.2.3 and use regular discrete mfg modules wip,bom etc

Is it possible to have a setup where the shifts in the mfg calendar are for say 10 hours but the resources are available for only 8 hours?In the department setup under BOM when we assign the resources to the department we also select which shifts the resource is available so if the shifts are 10 hours long the resource is also available for 10 hours.there is a utilitzation field under the planning tab - will this meet this requirement?
