Vertex Monthly Update

Is there a white page on a "best practice" for doing Vertex Monthly updates?  Do you have to run R0701730 or R07500 after a monthly update?  Currently not using Vertex 4.1.x, using E1 9.0.

Please insight is greatly appreciate.
