essbase and database on separate servers

Hello,

Currently, we have essbase and the database on a unix server, and the Hyperion services on Windows 7 server.  We are moving all our applications from unix to Linux x86-64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, but Essbase 11.1.2.3 is not certified with Red Hat 7.  Can we install Essbase on the Windows server, and move the database to the Linux server, or does Essbase have to be on the same server as the database?
