Can the TCA Party of an Existing Customer be Used as the TCA Party for a Supplier?

My question is if this problem has been resolved?

Or is there any workaround.

I have on project very common scenario where end users enter customer and then, after couple of years, want to use these customer as supppliers.
They can not use exsting party, yet new one and new supplier (with same tax reg. number) needs to be created.
