Taxpayer ID on the Tax Detail page gets deleted

If you change the Organization Type from Individual to Corporation or vise versa on the Tax and Reporting screen for a supplier, should the Taxpayer ID on the Tax Detail page get deleted?

I'm trying to figure out if this is a bug, or if this is the correct functionality.
