Group Asset Depreciation

Is it possible to use a User Defined Depreciation Method rather than the Flat Rate Depreciation Method to depreciate Group Assets?

I found the following comment in the notes section of Program AMDPCGRP.SQR:

     UD9608 - new routine to incorporate User Defined Method

I am unable to find any other references to "User Defined Depreciation Method".

I realize the following peoplecode in PS_BOOK prevents saving a group asset with any depreciation method other than Flat Rate:
