Does Firefox support Java 8 or 6 on EPM 11.1.2.1.600 ?

Does Firefox support Java 8 or 6 on EPM 11.1.2.1.600 ? We need to upgrade to IE 11 from IE 8 without upgrading EPM, and the only option which works IS Firefox 10 plus... but I am not sure if our current Java version support or not. Any inputs is much appreciated.
