Performance appraisal-merit increase

Is there any linkage between the performance appraisal and the employee eligibility of merit increase. In another word, can I link between the bonuses, incentive, commission of the employee and his performance appraisal (based on the percentage he gets for example, if his total of the performance appraisal is 70%, so automatically the system gives him 70% of bonuses he is eligible to take ??
