ssh shared key named credentials

Trying to set up named credentials using ssh shared key.  I'm following this doc/video:

I input the keys and info and when I press "Test and Save" it tells me:

Error: Failed to launch process: Auth fail

Where can I look to get some more information about what is amiss?
