GL Journal category sequence

Hello,

My client has the requirement to create specific sequence and assign it to specific journal categories. The problem is that the requirement is to have a varchar sequence from 8 characters that will have first a letter, and then numbers so:

F0000001, F0000002, F0000003, etc..

Have you ever done something  similar? is it possible?

As i know the standard sequences should be only numbers and such a format cannot be used ..
