Blocking oracle access by hostname on RAC

Hi Guys,

I have tried to block oracle access by hostname using tcp.validnode_checking but on RAC 11.2.0.4 it is not working I mean i am not able to bring up my listener.

And can I use VNCR for hostname blocking?

any suggestions.
