Workflow in online discussions

our client uses online discussions extensively during sourcing process to communicate both with suppliers and internal team members.

they have a requirement to enable workflow in online discussions for internal communications to get approvals before communicating to suppliers. Right now they are doing this as paper work outside system n then attaching the same in system.

pls advise if we have any such functionality available.
