Best way/field to pull the Quantity associated with assets on a Query Report?

Hi-

We currently have 9.2 and have Query as the only reporting tool for AM.  We need to be able to provide an accurate Fixed Asset register to the auditors, and are having difficulty  pulling the correct Quantity values.

We had initially been pulling the Quantity from the ASSET_ACQ_DET table.  However, when there are Acquisition Detail transactions updating the asset from the AP system, no quantity is populated.  Although this makes sense, it causes the Fixed Asset Register to show a Qty of 0 on the report.    It was then recommended to pull the Quantity from the COST table, as a sum of all the lines.  We are running into issues using that table as well, as it looks like when Cost Adj lines from AP update the asset, the Qty is sometimes populated.....resulting in an overstatement of the Quantity.  I'd be interested in learning if that is
