Batch Ship Confirm (R49500) by carrier

Is it possible to batch ship confirm by carrier #?  The carrier number field isn't currently available in the data selection of R49500.. If the UBE was modified to add carrier number F4941.CAR to the data selection would this be our best option?  There will never be more than 1 routing step per shipment.

Does anyone have a recommendation to any other options to meet the requirement of batch ship confirming by carrier?
