PRCR-1079,ORA-12546 error during database startup using srvctl

I have a standalone Oracle database  11.2.0.4.0 server running on RedHat 6 on Virtual Machine. The database storage is ASM.

su - oracle

-bash-4.1$ srvctl config database -d apxprod

Database unique name: apxprod

Database name: apxprod

Oracle home: /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1

Oracle user: oracle

Spfile: +DATA/apxprod/spfileapxprod.ora

Domain: cisco.com

Start options: open

Stop options: immediate

Database role: PRIMARY

Management policy: AUTOMATIC

Database instance: apxprod

Disk Groups: DATA,FRA

Services:

I am getting following errors while trying to start the database using srvctl, however using sqlplus the database startup works.

-bash-4.1$ srvctl start database -d apxprod

PRCR-1079 : Failed to start resource ora.apxprod.db
