reorder point planning; Forecast item is not planned

Hi, 

We are running R12.1.3 with the following modules : Inventory, Purchasing and OM. I want to use reorder point planning. We do not have Discrete Mfg nor any APS module.

When I add an Item to my forecast I get this message : Warning This item is not planned.


What's missing? Or, should I care?
