Large - 30 character passwords for SYS & System

My corporate security team is proposing that SYS, SYSTEM and other DBA level accounts use 30 character passwords. They will be archived in CyberArk vault with copy/paste function - we will not be typing 30 character passwords!

I know that Oracle supports 30 character passwords, I've even tested that it's not an issue with multibyte charactersets for the punctuation characters that we will use.

I have two questions:

1. Is anyone aware of DB systems currently using such large passwords (30 characters)?

2. If you do use large passwords, do you have any issues?

Personally, I do not think this will add anything to our security levels and have made that argument, but that has not made any headway.

Howdy, Stranger!
