R12 Credit Card Authorization (OM related)

All:

R12 upgrade (12.2.4)
We have a 3rd party B2C storefront that uses standard Oracle API in 11i for CC Auth. Is there a R12 way to get Auth w/o order header? We'd like to continue to only create Header/Lines if (and only if) the card authorizes in advance. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Can we get CC auth in R12 without Sales Order Creation?
(We have no issue with getting an authorization...just don't want to create the SO until we get 'success')
