Freight order, or how to work with carrier

So, shipment is created, rated and routed. Carrier is selected.

A wonder how to let carrier know that we need a truck from him (with terms and conditions)?

I didn't find any functionality to create such freight order, or anything like this.

EDI is not used. What is the best practice?
