Upgrade from 8.1.1.6 to 8.1.1.15, but stay in high interactivity for atleast a year. Is IRM mandator

Dear Support, we are planning to upgrade from 8.1.1.6 to IP2015 but stay in high interactivity.do we still require IRM?
