Maximum Serial Number length reached

Hi,

I am doing Misc Transaction for Serial controlled items at Reciept. At the time of entering serial numbers I am getting error message = 'Maximum Serial Number length reached'.

I am just trying to receive 20 Items and Serial Number Starting = M1. System stops number generation at M9. However I am able to enter numbers again from the second line.

I know there is a method to control length of lot controlled numbers but can not find setup which is controlling length of serial numbers. Please suggest.
