X reconfiguration after replacing a faulty nVidia video adapter

Please, what are the "#command lines" to attain a complete X reconfiguration as on a freshly installed Solaris 11.2 (x86) desktop?

My old card has failed and the system seems to have "lost" (or badly reconfigured itself) after a few boots with the faulty (or missing) card. Now that I have a new card in place, X can't start because it seems to be missing proper configuration settings. Far from willing to delve into the intricacies of X I will be more than happy with everything redetected and set back to defaults; but how?
