Annual Close (R098201) Created Incorrect Beginning Retained Earnings

I ran the annual close for 2015 for just one of our companies, the beginning retained earnings for 2016 was created with the wrong amount, the earnings for 2015 were duplicated. This program was run earlier with no problems, can this program be run multiple times? What would cause the prior year earnings to be duplicated.
