COGS vs DCOGS

Hi, When i ship an order, some times i am seeing COGS recognized and some time i am seeing DCOGS recognized. As per my understanding, in R12, it should always be DCOGS. But i am not sure why i am seeing COGS? Can somebody please explain if you know the reason? Thanks.
