ASM 12.1.0.2 ORA-15099 cannot create volume larger than 2 TB

I have installed GI and DB software for 12.1.0.2, then patched it with PSU 22191676 from Jan 2016.

Upon starting to create volumes, the above error popped up when trying to create large ones.

In a different environment I have performed similar tasks with no problems.

Anyone found a solution for such problem?
